Kushi was one of the landmark film in Ilayathalapathy Vijay's career, The film was a huge blockbuster and propelled him to new all heights. In the recently held Audio launch of SJ Suryah's Isai, Vijay revealed few intresting tidbits on the classic love story film

Kushi was a do or die film for me as i was going through a difficult phase in my career, I was uncertain and unsure about my career but SJ Suryah changed all that with Kushi and i thank him for that. Vijay also went on to reveal that Director Vikraman after the release of Kushi had asked him why he chose a film which had no story, Vijay said that he trusted SJ Suryah's story narration.
