A Ban on Kamal Haasan remaking Drishyam in Tamil

The Mohanlal Starrer Drishyam was 2013's biggest blockbuster, the critically acclaimed movie was set to be remade in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The Tollywood version Drushyam starring Venkatesh and Meena which was recently released was also declared huge hit.

Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan who has wrapped up Uthama Villain was all set to commence the tamil remake of the film and hence a Poojai was held. Now the latest is that a court in Ernakulam has just issued a ban on Tamil remake of the film.

Satish Paul from Koothu Mangalam seeked a petition stating that the film Drishyam was actually based on his novel, "Oru Mazhakkalath" and hence the remake right belonged to him  He went on to add that a Tamil remake is being made without seeking his permission and hence the film should be banned.

After hearing the petition the court has issued a ban on remaking Drishyam in Tamil.
